ABOUT
Sculptures, paintings and engravings
Mazé Andrade, an artist from Paraíba who has put down roots in Recife since 1960, emerges as a notable figure in the rich Brazilian artistic panorama. His career, marked by solid training and participation in both national and international exhibitions, reveals the breadth and diversity of his creative expression. The beginning of his journey dates back to 1979, when Mazé immersed himself in studying Arts, exploring different techniques under the tutelage of masters such as Aurola de Lima, José de Barros, Suely Cisneiros and Hélio Soares. This diversity is evident in his multifaceted work, which encompasses painting, sculpture, metal engraving, ceramics and lithographs. The more than 45 collective and individual exhibitions in Brazilian cities in places as far away as Buenos Aires, Medellín, Terrassa, Frankfurt, Romania attest to the international projection achieved by Mazé Andrade. His work transcends cultural boundaries, revealing the universality of his artistic language. Mazé's art transcends simple contemplation; she elevates the experience of those who dedicate themselves to her creations, inviting the viewer to cross limits. Just as Da Vinci and Picasso, each in their own time, were multifaceted and mastered different languages, she follows this legacy. His incessant search for a precious identity resonates eloquently in his work. The artist creates true portals that connect the classic and the contemporary, inviting the appreciation of the essential in human existence. Mazé Andrade's visual poetry goes beyond the ephemeral, leaving an indelible mark on those who are lucky enough to get lost in his works. She weaves a narrative that, at the same time, celebrates Brazilian tradition and points to a horizon of artistic transcendence. Everything he touches takes on life and meaning. Mazé Andrade takes us on an artistic experience that transcends mere observation, immortalizing itself in the memory of those who allow themselves to enter its private universe.
